Gulf Coast Oktoberfest

(Here's Your Chance to be German for a Day....or TWO!)

The Gulf Coast Oktoberfest sponsored by Geier’s Sausage Kitchen and is being held at at Westfield Sarasota Square Mall South Lot located a 8201 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34238. The Event will run from 11am – 8pm for 2 days on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th. CLICK HERE TO VIEW LOCATION MAP

The event will feature German and American Food / Beer, Live German Music, Games, Costume and Dance Contests, a merchant / vendor area and more. This event is the perfect opportunity to experience a little bit of Germany with some American options for the not so adventurous.

We have secured Hafenkapelle (haf-en-ka-pell-la) a 16 piece costumed fest band located in Cape Coral, Florida. They are the house band for the Cape Coral Oktoberfest and play throughout the year at different events. They will be playing Saturday - September 24th from 2pm - 7pm.

We have also secured Die Musik der Fruheren Jahre or if you prefer just plain "Oli and the Frankfurters" to play Friday - September 23rd from 2pm - 7pm. They are a 5 piece band who has been bringing old style German music to audiences in Southwest Florida area since 1992.

Come dressed to impress for our costume contest, participate in the Chicken Dance competition, stein hoisting competition, polka dance lessons and more...

This event is the perfect opportunity to experience a little bit of Germany with some American options for the not so adventurous.

We are anticipating 5000 attendees over the 2 days. This is a rain or shine event

Rules and General Info

You must be 21 or older to drink alcoholic beverages at the event. Attendees will be required to show valid photo I.D at beer sales stations.

Their will be a large tent and seating provided but dress comfortably.

There will be food and beverage options available for purchase at the event.

Dogs are allowed at the event on a leash but please bring your own supply of cold water and snacks, we will not be providing any watering stations. We DO request you bring Doggie waste bags should accidents happen.

There will not be any activities for children at the event

This will be a Rain or Shine event

Music

Live Authentic German Music will be provided through out both days of the event!

Hafenkapelle (haf-en-ka-pell-la) is a costumed fest band located in Cape Coral, Florida. In addition to traditional German festival music

Die Musik der Fruheren Jahre or if you prefer just plain "Oli and the Frankfurters" have been bringing old style German music to audiences in Southwest Florida area since 1992. Through the evening you will often hear Ein Prosit as it is the toast to Oktoberfest followed by the chugging of beer. Audience participation encouraged. Enjoy the music, song and dance of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland by this dynamic band. It’s the real thing.
